It is not recommended. Rest for 30 to 60 minutes before entering the chamber.
Reasons
Elevated heart rate and blood pressureHeart rate and blood pressure remain high after strenuous exercise. Pressurization during hyperbaric oxygen therapy may further raise blood pressure, easily causing dizziness, palpitations and chest tightness.
Rapid breathing and high oxygen consumptionThe body is in the recovery phase of anaerobic metabolism after exercise. Immediate chamber entry may lead to breathlessness, ear pressure discomfort and aggravated fatigue.
Excessive sweating and overheatingThe enclosed chamber tends to be warm. Heavy sweating may cause dehydration, electrolyte imbalance and poor physical comfort.
Unmetabolized lactic acid in musclesImmediate therapy delivers limited recovery effects. Better results are achieved after physical relaxation.
Standard Procedure
Slow walking relaxation for 15 minutes post-exercise
Replenish water, wipe sweat and stabilize vital signs for 15–30 minutes
Proceed with hyperbaric oxygen therapy after heart rate and breathing return to normal
Suitable Crowds for Post-exercise HBOT
Fitness enthusiasts and endurance athletes for physical recovery
Sportspeople to relieve muscle soreness and fatigue
People feeling fatigued and short of breath after exercise
Sub-health groups and patients recovering from cerebral infarction
Precautions
Do not enter the chamber while sweating profusely or out of breath
Hypertensive and cardiac patients require sufficient rest beforehand
Have light snacks before therapy if exercising strenuously on an empty stomach
